- description: The Cancer Genome Project is using the human genome sequence to identify genes critical in the development of human cancers. It also uses the mutation detection techniques to identify acquired sequence mutations. This is an ongoing project and we will be developing many tools in the future. Computation focuses on analysis of “Expressed Sequence Tags” (ESTs) in human genome. ESTs are short and error-prone DNA sequences. They are generated from the 5' and 3' ends of randomly selected cDNA.
