EUChinaGRID VO Acceptable Use Policy
1.1 Mission Statement The EUChinaGRID initiative aims to set up a grid infrastructure shared between Europe and China for Research, which can become part of EGEE and be integrated with analogous initiatives in the Balkans, North Europe, Latin America and Mediterranean. Another EUChinaGrid's purpose is to raise grid awareness and competences among the researchers operating in Europe and China, to make them able to profit of this new powerful tool, to foster collaboration with European and worldwide projects and to promote scientific and industrial development. To further EUChinaGRID objectives, EUChinaGrid Virtual Organization is designed to facilitate the development of new regional Grid application and communities, by expediting access to Virtual Organization services and EUChinaGRID resources. 1.2 Scope These policies apply to: 1. every member of the EUChinaGrid Virtual Organization, 2. all resources accessible to the EUChinaGrid VO, 3. the use of all software and data available to the EUChinaGRID VO. 1.3 Policy EUChinaGRID VO Users: 1. Shall use EUChinaGRID resources for only the purpose as described in your approved EUChinaGRID application/community registration. EUChinaGRID resources are not provided for any other purposes; 2. Shall only use the GRID to perform work, or transmit or store data consistent with the stated goals and policies of the VO of which you are a member and in compliance with these conditions of use; 3. Shall not use the GRID for any unlawful purpose and not (attempt to) breach or circumvent any GRID administrative or security controls. You shall respect copyright and confidentiality agreements and protect your GRID credentials (e.g. private keys, passwords), sensitive data and files; 4. Shall immediately report any known or suspected security breach or misuse of the GRID or GRID credentials to the incident reporting locations specified by the VO and to the relevant credential issuing authorities; 5. Use of the GRID is at your own risk. There is no guarantee that the GRID will be available at any time or that it will suit any purpose; 6. Logged information, including information provided by you for registration purposes, shall be used for administrative, operational, accounting, monitoring and security purposes only. This information may be disclosed to other organizations anywhere in the world for these purposes. Although efforts are made to maintain confidentiality, no guarantees are given; 7. The Resource Providers, the VOs and the GRID operators are entitled to regulate and terminate access for administrative, operational and security purposes and you shall immediately comply with their instructions; 8. You are liable for the consequences of any violation by you of these conditions of use. 1.4 Enforcement 1. EUChinaGrid VO reserves the right, after sending a written notification explaining the nature of the problem or breach of rule observed, to revoke access to Grid resources if a breach concerning the User is under investigation; 2. Legal action against Users may be taken in some instances.

Once they have accepted the AUP, users can then follow the step 2 to access the euchina VO.

HIGHLIGHTS

The EUChinaGRID project officially ended on 31 March 2008, after 27 months of activity and a number of goals achieved.

However, the project consortium is planning further collaboration activities for the next few months.
